1. Introduction: Three Consecutive Days at Romance no Kamisama!
From December 28th to 30th, 2025, I enjoyed snowboarding and skiing at Snow Resort Romance no Kamisama (Kijimadaira Ski Resort)!
On December 30th in particular, I had a full day of riding from 8:30 AM to past 3:00 PM. With nearly all courses open, I enjoyed skiing together with my 10-year-old child (on skis)!

I genuinely felt, “I’m so grateful that we got snow!”
However, there’s also some disappointing news… I discovered that my beloved “Auberge Groovy” is closed for this season. This is extremely unfortunate…😢
2. December 27th: Nearly All Courses Open!
Starting from December 27th (Sunday), nearly all courses were operating (except Pioneer and Woodland).
I forgot to take photos on the 29th, but the conditions were just as comfortable as on the 30th.
Key Points for the 29th:
- ✅ All main courses operating
- ✅ Sufficient snow depth (approximately 60cm)
- ✅ Well-groomed slopes easy to ride
- ✅ Light crowds, comfortable riding
On this day too, I enjoyed skiing and snowboarding with my 10-year-old child.
3. December 30th: Clear Skies from Morning! Fully Satisfied with Nearly All Courses Open
3-1. Full Day Riding from 8:30 AM to Past 3:00 PM
On December 30th (Monday), I checked in at Romance no Kamisama at 8:30 AM.
Conditions for the Day:
- ☀️ Weather: Clear skies with beautiful blue sky
- ❄️ Snow Depth: Approximately 60-70cm (estimated)
- 🎿 Snow Quality: A bit firm with no fresh snow for 3-4 days. However, groomed runs were well-maintained and easy to ride
- 🌡️ Temperature: Not cold. In the afternoon, temperatures rose and the snow softened
- 👥 Crowds: Very uncrowded! Virtually no lift wait times (only a few minutes around 10 AM)

3-2. Nearly All Courses Operating! Course Introduction
On this day, nearly all courses were operating! I rode the following courses:

- ✅ Family Course
- ✅ 800m Sled Course (rode twice with my child!)

3-3. Snow Quality: No Fresh Snow for 3-4 Days, But All Courses Rideable!
The snow quality on this day was a bit firm since no fresh snow had fallen for 3-4 days.
However, the groomed slopes had good edge grip and were easy to ride, with all courses rideable without any issues.
My Impression: “The snow was a bit firm, but having all courses open is much better than having closed courses! It’s truly appreciated. In the afternoon, as temperatures rose and the snow softened, the morning conditions were probably better for riding.”

3-4. Crowd Status: Uncrowded on Weekday! Virtually No Lift Waits
December 30th (Monday) was extremely uncrowded!
Crowd Status:
- ✅ Lift wait times: Virtually none
- ✅ Slightly crowded only around 10 AM (a few minutes wait)
- ✅ Few people on slopes, relaxed riding
- ✅ Entire course area uncrowded, can enjoy at your own pace

The weekday comfort is exceptional! Weekends and year-end/New Year periods are expected to be crowded, so weekdays are highly recommended.
3-5. Stunning Sea of Clouds! Amazing Views from the Courses
The biggest highlight of the day was the sea of clouds visible from the upper courses!

Clear blue skies, a sea of clouds, and snow-covered mountains. This view alone makes visiting Kijimadaira worthwhile!

4. Skiing & Snowboarding with My 10-Year-Old Child! Happy Riding Together
On this day, I rode together with my 10-year-old child (on skis).
My child was on skis while I was on a snowboard. We each enjoyed at our own pace!
4-1. Rode the 800m Sled Course Twice!
Together with my child, we also rode the 800m Sled Course twice!
The 800-meter sled course was a huge hit with my child! They wanted to ride it again and again, making it an enjoyable time for parents too.

4-2. Many Courses Easy for Children to Ride!
Romance no Kamisama has many beginner and child-friendly courses, allowing even my 10-year-old to ride with confidence.
Recommended Courses for Children:
- ✅ Perfect Course: Wide gentle slope. Ideal for beginners
- ✅ Family Course: Wide run in the lower slopes. Popular with families
- ✅ Sky Course: Wide with great views
- ✅ 800m Sled Course: Kids love it!
If you want to enjoy skiing and snowboarding with children, Romance no Kamisama is highly recommended!
5. [Disappointing News] My Beloved “Auberge Groovy” is Closed This Season…
And now for some very disappointing news…
I discovered that “Auberge Groovy” at the base area is closed for this season.

5-1. My Favorite Restaurant Visited 7-8 Times
Auberge Groovy was my favorite restaurant that I’ve visited about 7-8 times.
The lunch steak in particular was exceptionally delicious, and it was my go-to spot whenever I came to Kijimadaira Ski Resort.
My Impression: “The steak at Auberge Groovy was truly exceptional. Tender and juicy, it was the perfect meal to rejuvenate after skiing. The closure this season is really disappointing…😢”
5-2. Reason for Closure Unknown… Hoping for Next Season
The reason for the closure is currently unknown.
Since it says “due to circumstances,” I’m hoping for a reopening next season.
If I get any information about reopening, I’ll share it on this blog!
5-3. Alternative Restaurant: “Romance no Kamisama Restaurant”
With Auberge Groovy closed, the recommended on-slope restaurant is “Romance no Kamisama Restaurant”.

6. Summary: So Grateful for the Snow! Fully Satisfied with All Courses Open
Over these two days on December 29-30, I thoroughly enjoyed skiing and snowboarding at Romance no Kamisama!
What Was Great About These Two Days:
- ✅ All courses operating: 7 courses + 800m Sled Course available
- ✅ Clear skies: Stunning views with blue sky and sea of clouds
- ✅ Uncrowded: Virtually no lift waits, relaxed riding
- ✅ Snow quality: A bit firm with no fresh snow for 3-4 days, but groomed slopes were easy to ride
- ✅ Enjoyed riding with my 10-year-old child: Fully satisfied with skiing and sledding
Points to Note:
- ⚠️ Auberge Groovy closed this season: Only “Romance no Kamisama Restaurant” available for lunch
- ⚠️ Afternoon temperature rise: Snow softens, so morning conditions are better for riding
These two days truly made me feel, “I’m so grateful that we got snow!”
While Auberge Groovy’s closure is disappointing, I look forward to its reopening next season and plan to keep visiting Romance no Kamisama!
