On February 14, 2026, after enjoying snowboarding at Togari Onsen Ski Resort, we headed for lunch at the newly opened Chuka Soba Tsukemen Hajime Togari Onsen, located inside the “Akatsuki no Yu” hot spring facility.

This is the first Nagano location of a popular ramen shop that has been serving queues of customers in Tokyo’s Harajuku district for 15 years. We visited with high expectations!

Ski Resort Restaurants Were Packed, But Hajime Was Surprisingly Uncrowded!

The on-slope restaurants at Togari Onsen Ski Resort were crowded and full, so we were a bit worried. However, Hajime was surprisingly uncrowded and comfortable!

The location is right in front of Togari Onsen Ski Resort inside the “Akatsuki no Yu” building. You can dine here without using the hot spring facility, making it perfect for lunch after skiing or snowboarding.

What We Ordered

Here’s what we ordered:

  • Special Tsukemen (Dipping Ramen): ¥1,400
  • Grilled Gyoza: ¥600
  • Draft Beer (Medium): ¥600
  • Total: Approx. ¥2,600

The Grilled Gyoza Were Absolutely Delicious!

Grilled gyoza and beer

First, the grilled gyoza. Crispy, golden-brown skin with juicy filling. Absolutely delicious!

The pairing with ice-cold beer was perfect, refreshing our tired bodies after skiing and snowboarding.

Special Tsukemen: Strong Seafood Flavor & Chewy Noodles!

Special Tsukemen

And now for the main dish: Special Tsukemen.

The signature feature is the rich seafood broth, made by simmering chicken and pork bones for 18 hours, then combining with plenty of seafood. The seafood flavor is strong and deeply rich.

The noodles have a chewy, springy texture that clings beautifully to the thick broth. The special toppings of chashu pork, seasoned egg, and menma bamboo shoots are all well-seasoned and utterly satisfying!

No wonder this is so popular at the Harajuku flagship—it’s truly delicious.

Our Impressions & Summary

After enjoying snowboarding at Togari Onsen Ski Resort, we visited Chuka Soba Tsukemen Hajime Togari Onsen for lunch.

As the first Nagano location of a popular shop that’s been serving customers in Harajuku for 15 years, the quality of the Special Tsukemen was exceptionally high, with the rich seafood-pork bone broth and chewy noodles pairing beautifully.

The grilled gyoza were also incredibly delicious, and the combination with beer was perfect!

While the on-slope restaurants were crowded, Hajime was surprisingly uncrowded and we could eat comfortably. Highly recommended for lunch at Togari Onsen Ski Resort!

With operating hours from 11:00 to 20:00, it’s perfect not only for lunch but also for dinner after skiing—a real bonus.

Next time, I’d love to try the Special Spicy Tsukemen and Seared Chashu Ramen!
